Universal

Visitors to my studio have often described my work as Universal.
Over time, I came to understand this as the creation of multiple works that, when viewed together, form a single complete artwork — while each individual piece can also be seen as the whole.

My first exhibition to embody this idea was "A Bigger Bowl", completed in the early 2000s. It was first shown in 2017 at Chapelle des Dominicaines in Carcassonne, where it became the subject of much discussion — a conversation that continues to this day.

At the opening, someone in the audience asked, “Can you explain what you’re doing?”
"The Universe holds itself in its hand and knows that everything and nothing is similar," I replied. There was a pause, a murmur through the crowd — and then a quiet acceptance.

I’m less pretentious now. Back then, I felt it was important to make a statement, to try to make a difference.
Today, it’s enough to walk into the studio, pick up where I left off, and simply begin. :)
